As per reports, on Friday (12 December), rainfall is forecast to begin in the evening hours, followed by light wet snowfall in eastern Latvia, particularly in regions such as Latgale and parts of Vidzeme, marking a shift toward colder conditions later in the day.
• For most of Friday (12 December), temperatures across Latvia, including Riga, Vidzeme, Kurzeme, Zemgale, and Latgale, are expected to remain between three degrees Celsius to eight degrees Celsius before dropping rapidly in the late afternoon and evening, falling below zero degrees Celsius.
• Road conditions across several parts of Latvia, including Riga, Vidzeme, Latgale, and sections of Zemgale and Kurzeme, are expected to become icy as temperatures decline, particularly during the late afternoon and evening.
• Light rainfall is forecast intermittently throughout the day. Moderate north and northeast winds are expected across the country, with occasional gusts reaching eight to 13 metres per second.
• In Riga, forecasts indicate mostly cloudy skies with periods of light rainfall, accompanied by moderate north and northeast winds. Maximum temperatures are expected to range from six to seven degrees Celsius before decreasing rapidly later in the afternoon and evening.
