The Malaysian Meteorological Department (METMalaysia) has predicted the emergence of thunderstorms, heavy rainfall, and strong winds in parts of Malaysia until 1900 hours (local time) on Tuesday (20 January). The alert has been active since 1600 hours (local time).

Affected regions include:

• Perak — Larut, Matang and Selama, Kuala Kangsar, Batang Padang and Muallim.
• Pahang — Cameron Highlands and Rompin.
• Johor — Segamat, Batu Pahat, Kluang and Pontian.
