As per reports, the Kenya Meteorological Department has issued a weather advisory indicating increased rainfall intensity across several regions of Kenya from 2100 hours local time (1800 hours UTC) on Wednesday (22 April) to 2100 hours local time (1800 Hours UTC) on Thursday (23 April).
• Enhanced rainfall is expected particularly along coastal counties including Mombasa County, Kilifi County, Kwale County and Lamu County, accompanied by strong southerly to southeasterly winds exceeding 25 knots (12.5 m/s).
• Rainfall and thunderstorms are also expected across the Highlands West of the Rift Valley and Lake Victoria Basin, including Kisumu County, Kakamega County, Nakuru County and Uasin Gishu County, as well as the Highlands East of the Rift Valley including Nairobi, Kiambu County and Nyeri County.
• Additional rainfall activity is forecast in southeastern lowlands such as Machakos County and Kajiado County, and northeastern counties including Marsabit County and Garissa County, with localized thunderstorms and gusty winds.
