As per reports, authorities in Geneva have granted official permission for the ‘Immortal Regiment’ rally to take place at Place des Nations near the United Nations Office at Geneva on Thursday (08 May).

The event is being organized by the ‘Immortal Regiment Switzerland’ committee, led by Katerina Toporkova.

• Organizers indicated that the application process, submitted on 01 February, took approximately three months for approval, exceeding the standard review timeline of 30 days.
• Previous editions in Geneva have drawn several hundred participants. The event was held in a limited format in recent years, including online iterations in 2022 due to reported security concerns and threats. Organizers have indicated that participation is expected again this year.
