According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), a yellow alert for thunderstorm, lightning and squall has been issued across Nagaland on Friday (22 August).

• Affected districts include Peren, Dimapur, Kohima, Wokha, Phek, Zunheboto, Kiphire, Mokokchung, Tuensang, Longleng and Mon.
• Additionally, a warning for heavy rainfall has also been issued in Kiphire and Kohima.
