The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued rainfall warnings across eight states on account of various weather systems and disturbances on Sunday (13 October). Following are the latest updates:

• Very heavy rainfall is likely to occur over Tamil Nadu, while heavy rainfall is likely to occur over Kerala, Mahe, Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam, Madhya Maharashtra, Gujarat, East Rajasthan and West Madhya Pradesh.
• On the Western coast, isolated heavy rainfall is likely in the Konkan, Goa, and Gujarat regions on Sunday (October 13) due to a low-pressure area in the Arabian Sea. Accordingly, yellow alerts have been issued in all districts of Gujarat and both districts of Goa for thunderstorms and lightning.
• In Maharashtra, yellow alerts for thunderstorms and lightning have been issued in the districts of Raigad, Ratnagiri, Satara, Palghar, Thane, Nashik, Chattarapti Sambhaji Nagar (Aurangabad), Kolhapur, Ahmednagar, Beed, Buldhana, Dhule, Nandurbar, Amravati, Akola, Nagpur, Chandrapur, Yavatmal, Gondia, Gadchiroli, Pune, Bhandara, and Washim.
• Due to localised weather systems over interior India, heavy rainfall is expected over parts of Western Madhya Pradesh (MP) and Eastern Rajasthan. Accordingly, yellow alerts for heavy rainfall, thunderstorms and strong surface winds are active in the MP districts of Neemuch, Mandasur, Ratlam, Ujjain, Jhabua, Dhar, Barwani, Alirajpur, Khargone, Indore, Agar-Malwa, Khandwa, Burhanpur, Dewas, Rajgarh, Shajapur, Guna, Seoni, Balaghat, Chhindwara, Betul and Mandla.
• In Rajasthan, yellow alerts are active in Dholpur, Sawai Madhopur, Baran, Jhalawar, Karauli, Bundi, Tonk, Kota, Chittorgarh, Jaipur, Ajmer, Bhilwara, Rajmasand, Pali, Udaipur, Sirohi, Barmer, Jalore, and Dausa.
• Disturbances in the Arabian Sea as well as the Bay of Bengal are also expected to bring rainfall along to the states of Kerala and Andhra Pradesh. Accordingly, yellow alerts are active across all districts of both Andhra Pradesh and Kerala.
