The India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued a yellow alert across Jammu and Kashmir for thunderstorms, lightning, squall and strong surface winds on Monday (02 February). The weather conditions are expected to remain through Tuesday (03 February).

Affected areas include Anantnag, Bandipora, Baramulla, Budgam, Doda, Ganderbal, Jammu, Kathua, Kishtwar, Kulgam, Kupwara, Poonch, Pulwama, Rajouri, Ramban, Reasi, Samba, Shopian, Srinagar, and Udhampur.
