As per reports, the Ministry of the Environment and the Institute of Hydrology, Meteorology and Environmental Studies (IDEAM) issued warnings for cyclone and hurricane season predicted to impact across Colombia starting 01 June 2024.

• At least 23 storms are expected this year.
• The areas that will be most impacted by the cyclones and hurricanes will be those of the Caribbean, mainly the archipelago of San Andrés and Providencia and the department of La Guajira.
• The director of the National Risk Management Unit (Ungrd), Carlos Carillo, announced that preparations have begun in San Andrés for the 2024 hurricane season.
