As per reports, the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA) was placed on high alert on Sunday (24 May) after receiving a threatening email claiming that an international flight from Amsterdam to Hyderabad, Flight KLM-873, was carrying an unattended bomb.

• The email, sent by an unidentified individual, warned that the bomb onboard could explode at any moment before the aircraft lands.
• Authorities activated emergency protocols and mobilised security personnel, the Bomb Disposal Squad, and police. Ambulances and fire tenders were stationed near the runway, while the aircraft was diverted directly to a secure ‘Isolation Bay,’ where all passengers disembarked safely.
• After a thorough search of the aircraft, including the cabin, cargo hold, luggage, and passenger areas, officials confirmed there were no explosives onboard, and declared the threat a hoax.
