As per reports, the Gedo and Pedredo tunnels on the A-67 highway will be closed to traffic towards Santander from 0400 hours (local time) on Tuesday (25 March) until approximately 0700 hours (local time) on Thursday (27 March) for fire protection works conducted by the Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility.
• This marks the second closure of these tunnels within a short period for infrastructure improvements. Earlier this week, the same tunnels were closed from Monday to Wednesday, and additional work was carried out at the Riocorvo interchange.
• To facilitate traffic flow, an alternative route via the N-611 highway from Arenas de Iguña has been established, allowing drivers to rejoin the highway at Junction 168 in Los Corrales. Proper signage will be in place, and authorities have urged motorists to exercise caution.
