High UV radiation alert issued in Ecuador on Thursday (17 July)

As per reports, the National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology (INAMHI) has issued an alert for high and extremely high solar radiation levels across Ecuador on Thursday (17 July).

• Provinces such as Pichincha, Carchi, and Loja are expected to experience the most intense radiation.
• Very high levels are also anticipated in the Amazon region, and high levels along the coast and in the Galapagos Islands.
• The peak intensity of solar radiation is forecast to occur between 1000 hours local time and 1600 hours local time, coinciding with clear or partially cloudy skies in the affected highland areas.
