As per reports, MeteoSwiss has issued red and orange heatwave warnings for southern, northern, and northeastern Switzerland including the Zurich area, Graubünden, Lake Geneva, Valais, and Ticino, through Monday (12 August) until 2000 hours local time on Tuesday (13 August).
• Red heatwave warnings have been issued for Bellinzonese, Locarnese, Basso Moesano, Riviera, Mendrisiotto, Luganese and Verzasca, wherein temperatures are expected to range between 32 – 35 degrees Celsius and the humidity will range between 35 – 50 percent.
• Orange heatwave warnings are in effect for Genève, Préalpes vaudoises, Lausanne, Lavaux, Morges, Cossonay, Nyon, Terre Sainte, Martigny, Verbier, Conthey, Fully, Sion, Crans-Montana, Lötschental, Naters, Turtmanntal, Val d’Hérens, Rheinfelden, Basel, Werdenberg, Sarganserland, Landquart-Chur, and Liechtenstein, wherein temperatures are expected to range between 31 – 33 degrees Celsius and the humidity will range between 35 – 50 percent.
