As per reports, a large pro-Palestine demonstration, organized by the Palestine Solidarity Campaign, is scheduled in Central London on Saturday (09 August), from 1200 hours local time to 1600 hours local time.

• The protest is part of the group’s ‘Summer of Action for Gaza’ campaign and is expected to draw several hundred to over 1,000 participants in London. Protests are anticipated in another cities as well.
• Organizers refer to the ongoing humanitarian situation in Gaza and are calling on the UK government to take action to help end the conflict.
• The protest also coincides with developing controversy over the UK government’s proscription of Palestine Action, now designated as a banned terrorist organization.
• Campaigners from ‘Defend Our Juries’ are encouraging more participants to join the demonstrations, in direct defiance of the ban.
• Over 200 arrests have already taken place since the proscription was enacted in July.
• In response, the Metropolitan Police have issued a strong warning, stating that mass arrests will occur if protesters breach terrorism laws during the demonstration.
