As per reports, the Ministry of Health assured Kenyans that the Marburg virus, recently reported in Tanzania, has not spread into Kenya as of Monday (20 January).
• Principal Secretary for Public Health and Professional Standards, Mary Muthoni, confirmed the government’s readiness to prevent the virus from entering the country through the implementation of enhanced public health measures.
• Muthoni outlined that surveillance protocols have been intensified at all points of entry to safeguard public health. She emphasized that screening measures, critical in identifying and mitigating health risks, have been strengthened as a proactive measure against the Marburg virus.
