The Korea Meteorological Administration (KMA) has issued a Heavy Snowfall Advisory for multiple inland, island, and mountainous areas of South Korea on Wednesday (21 January), as significant snowfall accumulation is expected over 24 hours.
• The advisory applies to Jangseong, Yeongam, Muan, Hampyeong, Yeonggwang, Gochang, Buan, Ulleungdo–Dokdo, and the mountainous areas of Jeju-do, where 24-hour snowfall totals are expected to reach 20 centimeters or more.
• The advisory has been issued due to the likelihood of prolonged snowfall, which may intensify at times, particularly across island and elevated terrain, increasing the risk of rapid snow accumulation.
