As per reports, heavy rainstorms are forecast for provinces of Guangdong, Hunan, Jiangxi, and Fujian in southern and eastern parts of China on Saturday (06 April). Thunderstorms, gales and hail are forecast for these regions. A yellow alert has been issued by the National Meteorological Center (NMC) and heavy rainfall is forecast for central part of Guangdong province from 0800 hours on Saturday (06 April) till 0800 hours on Sunday (07 April). Rainfall of upto 180mm is predicted.

NMC has urged local authorities to be prepared for dealing with the impact of heavy rainstorms. Local transport departments are advised to strengthen transport guidance and implement travel control measures on flooded roads. Further, evacuation of people from low-lying and potentially vulnerable areas to safer locations have been advised.
