• An Orange Heavy Rain Warning is in place for Northland, with rainfall totals of 110 to 150 mm anticipated, including peak rainfall rates of 15 to 25 mm per hour and the potential for localised downpours of 25 to 40 mm per hour.
• A separate Orange Heavy Rain Warning has been issued for the Coromandel Peninsula, where 180 to 220 mm of additional rainfall is anticipated, particularly over higher ground, with peak intensities anticipated from Wednesday afternoon into the evening.
• A Heavy Rain Watch is also in effect for Auckland and Great Barrier Island, where rainfall amounts may approach warning thresholds, and downpours of 25 to 40 mm per hour remain possible. Authorities have indicated a high likelihood of escalation to Red Warnings if conditions intensify.
