As per reports, the National Institute of Meteorology (INMET) expects heavy rainfall with strong wind gusts in parts of Brazil on Wednesday (03 January).

• Heavy rainfall is anticipated in the city of Porto Alegre, capital of Rio Grande do Sul. The alert will remain effective until 1800 hours (local time) on Wednesday (03 January) with storms that may have wind gusts of up to 100 km/h.
• Heavy rainfall is expected in the metropolitan region of Porto Alegre, Curitiba, Vale do Itajaí, Greater Florianópolis, Northeast Rio-grandense, North Santa Catarina, South Catarinense, Litoral Sul Paulista, Serrana, Centro Oriental Paraná and Southeast Rio-grandense.
• Intermittent rainfall is anticipated in the municipalities of Mato Grosso, Mato Grosso do Sul, the Federal District, Maranhao, Pernambuco, Piaui, Bahia, as well as in northern cities in Para, Tocantins, and Rondonia. The northern region of Minas Gerais is also expected to experience rainfall.
