As per reports, a period of unsettled weather is expected to affect much of Kentucky from Thursday (09 July) till Saturday (11 July).
• A Flood Watch has been issued for most of the state due to the likelihood of prolonged rainfall and an increased risk of flash flooding. Rainfall totals of 25 to 75 millimetres (one to three inches) are expected across a wide area, while isolated locations may receive higher amounts.
• Kentucky has also been placed under a Slight Risk (Level two of four) for flash flooding during the coming days, indicating that scattered flash flooding is possible, particularly in areas receiving repeated heavy rainfall.
• Although the overall risk of severe thunderstorms remains relatively low, isolated thunderstorms may become strong enough to produce damaging wind gusts, particularly on Thursday (09 July) and Friday (10 July).
• Scattered thunderstorms are also expected to continue on Saturday (11 July), with a few storms possibly becoming strong. The flash flooding threat is forecast to gradually decrease and end as weather conditions improve going into Sunday.
