As per the weather forecast by China Meteorological Administration, heavy rainfall is expected in parts of parts of Yunnan, Sichuan, Guangxi, Guangdong, Hainan Island, Hunan, Jiangxi, Fujian, Zhejiang, Anhui, and Hubei on Wednesday (16 October). Following are the latest updates:
• Until 0800 hours (local time) on Thursday (17 October), heavy rain is likely to occur in eastern and southern Yunnan, western Sichuan Basin, eastern Guangxi, northern Guangdong, eastern and southern Hainan Island, central and southern Hunan, central and northern and southeastern Jiangxi, southwestern Fujian, Zhejiang, southern Anhui, and southeastern Hubei as per CMA forecast.
• The areas likely to be worst affected by the heavy rainfall include Wenshan and Honghe in Yunnan, Baoting and Qiongzhong in Hainan, Ganzhou in Jiangxi, Longyan in Fujian, Lishui, Wenzhou and Taizhou in Zhejiang.
• Sleet and snow are likely to occur in parts of the northern western Sichuan Plateau on Wednesday (16 October).
• As per the CMA forecast, heavy rains are expected to persist in eastern Yunnan, central and southern Guizhou, northern Guangxi, central and western Hunan, and central and northern Jiangxi and all parts of Zhejiang at least until Friday (18 October).
• It is expected that from Wednesday-Friday (16-18 October), parts of central and southern North China, Huanghuai, northern Jianghuai, Jianghan, western Jiangnan, western and northern South China, and eastern Southwest China will have heavy rain.
