As per reports from the Instituto Nacional de Meteorologia (INMET) and the São Paulo State Civil Defense (Defesa Civil), a cold front passing along the coast combined with the activity of a meteorological trough is expected to generate conditions of significant atmospheric instability across São Paulo State and multiple regions of Brazil on Wednesday (11 March).

• In Greater São Paulo, moderate to heavy storms with lightning and wind gusts are forecast primarily during the afternoon and evening of Wednesday (11 March). Maximum temperatures are expected to reach 21 degrees Celsius.
• Maritime winds along the São Paulo coast are expected to increase cloud cover and reduce temperatures throughout the day. In Santos, heavy storms are anticipated for the afternoon and evening, with a maximum of 24 degrees Celsius on Wednesday (11 March).
• The Defesa Civil has issued an alert for the São Paulo coast, warning of persistent rainfall that may increase the risk of flooding and landslides.
• Across São Paulo State, the most severely affected zones are expected to include the northeastern and central municipalities around Ribeirão Preto, Franca, Araraquara, and Campinas, as well as eastern areas including São José dos Campos and the Paraíba Valley. Rainfall may also extend into southern and eastern Minas Gerais, including Poços de Caldas, Pouso Alegre, Itajubá, and Juiz de Fora.
• Rainfall accumulations of up to 60 millimeters are forecast in isolated areas of northeastern and coastal Paraná, including Curitiba and Paranaguá; eastern Santa Catarina, including Florianópolis, Joinville and the Vale do Itajaí; and southeastern and northwestern Rio Grande do Sul, including Pelotas, Rio Grande, Santa Rosa and Ijuí.
