As per reports, county and state authorities in Southern California have issued evacuation warnings for multiple burn scar areas as a significant storm system approaches the region until Sunday (16 November).
• Evacuation warnings apply to the Canyon, Bethany, Eaton, Palisades, Hurst, Kenneth, Sunset, Lidia, Franklin, and Bridge burn scar zones, with officials urging residents to be prepared to leave immediately if conditions deteriorate
• The incoming weather system is a moderate atmospheric river interacting with a cold front, expected to impact large portions of California, Oregon, and Washington.
• Heavy rainfall is forecast with the system moving south into Los Angeles, Orange, Ventura, and San Diego counties through Saturday (15 November).
• Authorities expect one to three inches of rainfall across much of Western California, with higher elevations particularly around Santa Barbara receiving four to six inches and potentially more along south-facing slopes.
• The National Weather Service also warns of gusty winds up to 35 meter per hour in mountain and desert regions, as well as possible thunderstorms from Friday (14 November) through Saturday (15 November).
• In San Diego County, widespread rainfall totals between 2.5 inches along the coast, four to six inches in the mountains, and 1.5 to 2.5 inches in the deserts are expected.
