As per reports, the Finnish Meteorological Institute (FMI) has issued heatwave warnings for several land areas across Finland due to an anticipated period of unusually warm weather from Saturday (11 July) to Monday (13 July).
• For the first phase, valid from Saturday (11 July) at 1200 hours local time (11 July at 0900 hours UTC) to Sunday (12 July) at 0000 hours local time (11 July at 2100 hours UTC), warnings are for Päijät-Häme, Kymenlaakso, South Karelia, Central Finland, Etelä-Savo, Pohjois-Savo, North Karelia, and Kainuu.
• For the second phase, valid from Sunday (12 July) at 0000 hours local time (11 July at 2100 hours UTC) to Monday (13 July) at 0000 hours local time (12 July at 2100 hours UTC), the warning shifts across southern and western regions including Varsinais-Suomi, Satakunta, Uusimaa, Kanta-Häme, Pirkanmaa, and surrounding areas.
• Authorities have noted a 40 percent probability for high temperatures, which may cause heightened health complications for high-risk demographics and individuals with chronic illnesses.
