• The heat is expected to intensify through the weekend and peak on Monday (04 August), with maximum temperatures likely to exceed 40 degrees Celsius in southern regions, particularly in the Guadiana and Guadalquivir valleys.
• Widespread daytime highs above 38 degrees Celsius are forecast for Andalusia, Extremadura, and Castilla-La Mancha.
• The persistent heat, combined with dry vegetation and strong local winds, significantly increases the likelihood of wildfires, particularly in forested and rural areas of southern, eastern, and central Spain.
