As per reports, Heathrow Airport is expected to face significant disruptions as approximately 500 passenger assistance workers, responsible for assisting passengers with restricted mobility (PRM), are scheduled to go on strike from 05 April to 09 April.

• The strike, organized by Unite, is driven by demands for wage parity with Wilson James staff at Gatwick Airport, who earn an average of 9.5 percent more for the same role.
• Unite has stated that unless a resolution is reached, further industrial action may occur, potentially affecting PRM services across the entire airport. The striking workers play a critical role in ensuring smooth operations for PRM passengers, providing both physical assistance and emotional support to those in need.
• This disruption follows a recent incident at Heathrow, where a fire at an electricity substation led to a power outage, grounding flights for several hours. More than 270,000 air passenger journeys were affected. Investigations into the cause of the fire are ongoing, with authorities confirming that no criminal intent was found.
