As per reports, Spain is experiencing an extraordinary heat episode, with temperatures expected to exceed 40 degrees Celsius in some regions. The heatwave began on Wednesday (28 May) and is anticipated to last until Saturday (31 May).

• The most affected areas include Andalusia, Catalonia, and Aragon, with record temperatures expected in the Guadalquivir Valley.
• The heat is attributed to a combination of a high-pressure system over the Azores and a warm air mass from North Africa.
