As per reports, Environment Canada has issued heat warnings for a large portion of the province, with alerts in effect for an area stretching from northern Alberta to the southern border, mainly along the eastern half of Alberta. The warnings are valid until Wednesday (02 July).
• Main cities affected include Edmonton, Calgary, Red Deer, Lloydminster, Medicine Hat, Grand Prairie, Cold Lake, Athabasca, and Fort McMurray.
• The warnings for Edmonton and Calgary state that temperatures reaching 29 degree Celsius, combined with overnight lows near 14 degrees Celsius, are forecast for the next two days. Conditions are expected to cool down on Thursday (03 July).
