As per reports, a national demonstration organized by Generation Z youth is scheduled for Saturday (25 October) in Lima, Peru. The event is expected to begin at 1430 hours local time (1930 hours UTC) at Plaza Francia. Participants are expected to march toward the Palace of Justice around 1700 hours local time (2200 hours UTC).
The National Alliance of Transporters confirmed participation in the march alongside youth groups, expressing opposition to what they describe as “pro-crime” laws enacted by Congress.
• The march aims to demand justice for murders attributed to organized crime and denounce legislative measures such as laws 32108 and 32130, which the group claims hinder crime prevention.
• The demonstration aims to honor late artist Eduardo Ruiz, known as “Truko,” whose death spurred the mobilization. Organizers plan to petition the Inter-American Court of Human Rights and the National Human Rights Coordinator to address alleged police abuses from prior protests.
