As per reports, the following are the latest updates pertaining to the Bangladesh election:

• Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) Senior Joint Secretary General Advocate Ruhul Kabir Rizvi distributed leaflets to shopkeepers and carried out a door-to-door campaign in Dhaka’s Uttara Sectors 12 and 13, in the morning hours of Saturday (30 December), calling on citizens to boycott the 07 January election.
• A series of attacks on candidates took place on Friday (29 December).
• In Khagrachhari, the supporters of the Trinamool BNP candidate Usshe Pru Marma, were allegedly attacked while campaigning in Dudakchhara area of Panchhari upazila by armed miscreants. Usshe stated that nine of his supporters were injured in the attack, while a private vehicle, a minibus and 12 motorcycles used in the campaign were vandalised.
• Two supporters of Faridpur-3 independent candidate AK Azad, who is contesting the polls with the eagle symbol, sustained injuries during an attack allegedly by a supporter of the boat symbol.
• In Chattogram, a case was filed against a total of 19 supporters of the boat and eagle symbols and 60-70 unnamed individuals for trying to kill policemen during a clash in Sandwip Upazila. The incident occurred on 24 December, while the case was booked and investigation launched on Friday (29 December).
• The election camp of Bangladesh Nationalist Movement (BNM) candidate under Chapainawabganj-3 constituency was set on fire at Shankarbati in Chapainawabganj municipality area on Friday (29 December).
