As per reports, on Wednesday (07 January), at approximately 1103 hours local time (1003 hours UTC), the Sluiskiltunnel, located on the N62 between Terneuzen and Sluiskil, was closed in both directions due to a technical malfunction affecting tunnel operations.
• The closure was reported for both tunnel bores and was initiated by the tunnel’s operating authority, N.V. Westerscheldetunnel, which manages traffic control and incident response for the facility.
• During the closure period, traffic is expected to be diverted via designated U64 (towards Hulst/Ghent) and U65 (towards other regional routes) detour routes.
