As per reports, the Autobahn GmbH des Bundes has announced a full closure (Vollsperrung) of the A40 motorway between Anschlussstelle Kaiserberg and Autobahnkreuz Duisburg in the direction of Venlo, in connection with ongoing reconstruction works at Autobahnkreuz Kaiserberg from Wednesday (13 May) to 19 May.
• The full closure is in effect from 2100 hours local time (1900 hours UTC) on Wednesday (13 May) until 0500 hours local time (0300 hours UTC) on 19 May.
• The official diversion route is as follows: traffic on the A40 in the direction of Venlo is redirected onto the A3 in the direction of Arnhem, then onto the A42 in the direction of Kamp-Lintfort, then onto the A59 in the direction of Düsseldorf, and back to the A40 via Autobahnkreuz Duisburg.
• In addition to the current full closure, a long-term closure of the connecting ramp from the A3 in the direction of Arnheim onto the A40 in the direction of Venlo at Autobahnkreuz Kaiserberg remains in effect and is expected to continue until mid-2027.
