Freeze watch issued in West Texas for Tuesday (28 October) through Wednesday (29 October)

As per reports, the National Weather Service (NWS) Midland/Odessa office has issued a Freeze Watch from late Tuesday night (28 October) through Wednesday morning (29 October) as temperatures in West Texas are forecast to plummet to near or below freezing.

• The alert covers a wide region including the Guadalupe Mountains, Marfa Plateau, Davis Mountains, and communities near the Texas–Mexico border, extending into parts of southeastern New Mexico.
• Subfreezing temperatures are expected to reach lows of around 28 degrees Fahrenheit (negative two degrees Celsius), marking the first freeze event of the season. The NWS noted that the watch will likely be upgraded to a Freeze Warning within 24 hours as conditions develop.
