As per reports, flooding in Bekasi City had worsened, with inundation reported in seven out of 12 districts, namely Pondokgede, Rawalumbu, Jatiasih, Bekasi Utara, Bekasi Barat, Bekasi Timur, and Bekasi Selatan as of Thursday (29 January).
• The Bekasi City Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) recorded water levels ranging from 10 centimeters to 150 centimeters in several locations, forcing evacuations in multiple residential areas and disrupting daily activities.
• In Teluk Pucung, Bekasi Utara, at least nine residents were evacuated after floodwaters reached between 30 and 150 centimeters.
• Major roads, including Jalan Duta Kranji, were submerged by up to 80 centimeters of water, significantly hampering traffic and local mobility.
• Residents have reported fluctuating water levels with no clear signs of rapid recession, raising concerns about prolonged inundation, health risks, and potential damage to homes and infrastructure. Emergency response teams are continuously monitoring conditions and remained on standby for further evacuations if required.
