As per reports, the National Weather Service issued a flood watch for Richmond in Virginia on Saturday (20 July) until 2200 hours local time.
• Rainfall and storms are expected to bring torrential downpours, with rainfall potentially exceeding 1 inch in under 30 minutes. Areas affected by multiple slow-moving storms may see over 3 inches of rainfall, with localized totals potentially reaching 5-6 inches.
• Flooding is possible in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Some storms may produce stronger gusts, with a marginal risk for severe storms.
• High temperatures are expected to range between 85-90 degrees Fahrenheit. On Monday (22 July), another wave of showers and storms is expected, with high temperatures in the mid to upper 80s. The weather is expected to remain muggy and unsettled from Tuesday (23 July) through Thursday (25 July), with scattered to numerous showers and storms.
• High temperatures are expected to range from 85-90 degrees Fahrenheit. Chances of rainfall are expected to decrease toward the end of the week, with high temperatures around 90 degrees Fahrenheit next weekend.
