Flood warnings issued in parts of Romania until Wednesday (28 May)

As per reports, from Monday (26 May) through Wednesday (27 May), yellow, orange and red warning levels have been issued for many areas of Romania due to the threat of flooding in the next two days.

• Between 0600 hours until 2359 hours (local time) on Tuesday (27 May), a red flood code has been issued, valid on the following rivers in the hydrographic basins: Teleajen, Cricovu Sărat (tributaries of the Prahova River) in Prahova and Ialomiţa counties. Strong flash floods and rapid increases in water levels are forecast in these areas.
• Starting 2100 hours on Monday (26 May), until 1200 hours (local time) on Wednesday (28 May), an orange flood code is in place, covering the counties of: Covasna, Harghita, Braşov, Sibiu, Dâmboviţa, Prahova, Ilfov, Ialomiţa, Buzău, Neamţ, Vaslui, Iaşi, Bacău, Vrancea and Galaţi.
• From 1200 hours on Monday (26 May) until 1200 hours on Wednesday (28 May), a yellow flood code is in force, which applies to the counties of: Harghita, Covasna, Braşov, Sibiu, Olt, Teleorman, Argeş, Dâmboviţa, Giurgiu, Ilfov, Prahova, Ialomiţa, Buzău, Suceava, Neamţ, Bacău, Vrancea, Iaşi, Galaţi, Botoşani, Vaslui, Brăila, Constanţa and Tulcea.
