As per reports, the Grand River Conservation Authority has reportedly issued a flood warning for the cities of Kitchener and West Montrose, while Ayr and New Hamburg are under a flood watch, following several days of intense thunderstorms and heavy rainfall across the Waterloo on Wednesday (15 April).

• Rainfall accumulations between 20 and 50 millimetres have already been recorded since the beginning of the week, with an additional 20 millimetres of rainfall is forecast for Wednesday (15 April) and (16 April).
• Localised higher rainfall totals remain possible due to ongoing thunderstorm activity. Rising river levels and increased water flow within the watershed have been observed, with expectations that water levels may continue to increase as additional rainfall occurs.
• Flooding has already impacted infrastructure, including the closure of sections of Albert Street in Waterloo due to water submergence and prolonged closure of Kressler Road near Heidelberg due to flooding.
• The flood warning and watch are expected to remain in effect until 20 April, with authorities advising continued monitoring of weather conditions and water levels.
