As per reports, several flights were cancelled while over 200 were delayed due to low visibility as a thick blanket of smog covered Delhi and the national capital region (NCR) on Tuesday (16 December), significantly affecting flight operations at Indira Gandhi International Airport, Delhi.
As per the passenger advisory issued at 1220 hours on Tuesday (16 December), Delhi Airport has stated that the flight operations were running smooth at the airport. However, a few departures and arrivals may still be affected.
• On Tuesday (16 December), at 0800 hours (local time), the 24-hour average Air Quality Index (AQI) was recorded at 377; resulting in a thick blanket of smog which covered Delhi and the national capital region (NCR).
