Flight disruption reported following heavy rainfall at Hyderabad airport on Friday (12 June)

As per reports, heavy rainfall accompanied by strong winds affected Hyderabad during the evening hours on Friday (12 June), disrupting flight operations at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA). Airport authorities confirmed that adverse weather conditions resulted in the diversion of nine flights between 1900 and 2200 hours (local time).

Two IndiGo flights operating from Navi Mumbai and Varanasi were diverted to Chennai, while an IndiGo flight from Bengaluru was rerouted to Nagpur.

• In addition, IndiGo issued a travel advisory at 2124 hours (local time) informing passengers that adverse weather conditions in Hyderabad had impacted flight schedules and could result in extended delays both on the ground and onboard aircraft.
