As per reports, a major fire outbreak was reported around 0231 hours at Kaiser-i-Hind building in Ballard Estate area, Mumbai on Sunday (27 April). Around 0330 hours, the fire was upgraded to level two and at 0421 hours it was upgraded to level three. The fire was confined to the fourth floor of the five-storey building where the office of the Enforcement Directorate is also located.
Firefighting operation is underway, with 12 fire engines, six jumbo tankers, one aerial water tower tender, a breathing apparatus van, a rescue van, a quick response vehicle, and an ambulance deployed to the scene. No injuries have been reported so far. The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained.
