As per reports, two separate fires broke out in the Pandacan and Tondo districts of Manila on Wednesday (29 July), resulting in emergency response deployments, traffic congestion, and school closures.
Following are the details:
• The first fire broke out at Building 01 of Residences in Pandacan at approximately 0340 hours (local time), allegedly originating on the fourth to fifth floors.
• The Pandacan fire reached the first alarm at 0348 hours (local time), the second alarm at 0354 hours (local time), and the third alarm at 0437 hours (local time), with fire suppression operations ongoing.
• Carlos P. Garcia High School suspended classes on Wednesday (29 July) due to the proximity of the fire incident in Pandacan.
• Traffic congestion developed along Mabini Bridge as firefighting operations affected motorists and commuters passing through the area.
• A second fire broke out at Dagupan Extension in Tondo at approximately 0409 hours (local time), reaching the third alarm at 0447 hours (local time).
• The Tondo fire was brought under control at 0513 hours (local time) and declared extinguished at 0530 hours (local time).
• Authorities have not yet released details regarding the cause of the fires or casualties.
