According to reports, a fire incident was reported in a three-storeyed building at Gulzar Houz near Charminar on Sunday (18 May) at around 0630 hours (IST). Emergency responders immediately reached the location after receiving the information.

17 fatalities have been reported so far. Authorities are conducting a search and rescue operation to assess the damage caused by the incident.

• Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) on its official “X” handle declared that an ex-gratia of INR two lakh from Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund (PMNRF) would be given to the next of kin of each deceased, while the injured would be given a compensation amount of INR 50,000.
• Chief Minister of Telangana Revanth Reddy also expressed his concern over the incident and has asked the officials to step up relief efforts and ensure the best treatment for those injured.
