As per reports, fire broke out at the six-story apartment building in Bunkyo Ward of Tokyo, at around 1900 hours on Wednesday (27 November). Two casualties have been reported in the incident.

The fire was contained before 0100 hours on Thursday (28 November).

• The fire broke out in the Tokyo apartment building where Liberal Democratic Party lawmaker Kuniko Inoguchi lives with her family.
• Two unidentified bodies have been found at the scene, and as per the police, her husband and one of their daughters remain unaccounted for.
• More than 30 fire-trucks and other emergency vehicles were dispatched to the scene, located in an area lined with apartment buildings and houses, about 500 meters north of Tokyo Dome.
