As per reports, Portsmouth firefighters responded to a fire at 420 Pleasant Street on Thursday (06 February) afternoon, requiring support from 25 additional firefighters through mutual aid.
• The fire was reported just before 1430 hours (local time) and originated on the first floor, but it spread through the walls and ceiling to the second and third floors, according to fire officials.
• A total of 50 firefighters, including 25 from Portsmouth and 25 from surrounding towns, worked to contain the fire within the building, bringing it under control just before 1600 hours (local time).
• The cause of the fire is currently under investigation by the Portsmouth Fire Department’s Fire Prevention Bureau.
