As per reports, a fire broke out on the second floor of a four-story building in Sangbong-dong, Jinju-si, Gyeongsangnam-do, at around 0453 hours (local time) on Saturday (22 November).

• Eight residents evacuated on their own due to the fire, and two were rescued and taken to hospital.
• Approximately 56 square meters of the second floor of the building was burned down.
• Fire authorities, dispatched after receiving reports from nearby residents, mobilized 61 firefighters and 14 pieces of firefighting equipment and extinguished the fire at 0538 hours.
• Police and fire authorities are investigating the exact cause of the fire.
