As per reports, a fire incident was reported at Northcote College, Auckland, at approximately 1215 hours (local time) on Friday (20 February).
• Fire and Emergency New Zealand (FENZ) crews were alerted to the blaze, with an initial response unit deployed from Silverdale and additional crews dispatched to the scene.
• Authorities indicated that the fire originated in the sports pavilion area. Students and staff were evacuated following activation of the fire alarm. Eyewitness accounts described visible flames and heavy smoke emanating from the affected structure.
• Police established access controls around the school entrance along Kauri Glen Road to facilitate emergency operations.
• Firefighting operations remain ongoing. No injuries have been reported at the time of writing.
