Finland to establish a new supervisory agency on Thursday (01 January)

As per reports, Finland is implementing a major administrative restructuring with the creation of a new, large state supervisory authority that will begin operations on Thursday (01 January).

• The new agency will integrate functions currently spread across several government bodies, including the National Supervisory Authority for Health and Welfare (Valvira), the Regional State Administrative Agencies (AVI), as well as significant environmental and business oversight responsibilities.
• It will be headquartered in Tampere and operate through 18 offices nationwide with an expected workforce of roughly 2,000 employees.
