Farmers protested outside residences of AAP, BJP leaders in Punjab on Sunday (22 February)

As per reports, following a protest call by various farm unions, a large number of farmers staged demonstrations outside the residences of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders in Bathinda and neighbouring districts on Sunday (22 February).

• The demonstrations lasted nearly three hours. The protesters demanded a legal guarantee on minimum support price (MSP) for crops and opposed the India-United States (US) trade deal.
• In Bathinda District, protests were held outside the residences of former legislator Sarup Singla and AAP legislator Baljinder Kaur from Talwandi Sabo.
• In Mansa District, demonstrations took place outside the houses of Gurpreet Banawali, Vijay Singla and Budh Ram.
• In Muktsar District, farmers protested outside the residence of Manpreet Badal in Badal village.
• In Moga, farmers held a protest under the banner of the United Kisan Morcha.
• Farmers led by the Samyukt Kisan Morcha (SKM) protested outside AAP and BJP offices in Mohali.
• Protests were also reported in Sangrur and Faridkot.
