As per reports, extreme heat and severe thunderstorms are expected across the Northeastern United States from Wednesday (01 July) through Friday (03 July). Extreme Heat Watches have been issued for parts of the region, with heat index values expected to reach 100–110 degrees Fahrenheit, particularly along and near the I-95 corridor. The heat wave is expected to peak on Friday (03 July), coinciding with increased Independence Day holiday travel.
Strong thunderstorms are also expected, with the greatest risk during Wednesday (01 July) evening, bringing heavy rainfall, localized flash flooding, damaging wind gusts, and lightning. High overnight temperatures are expected to provide limited relief, and an active weather pattern is expected to continue into the holiday weekend.
