As per reports, a crude bomb exploded around 1530 hours (local time) on Monday (20 October) outside the District Council Office in Bogura, moments before the commencement of a district coordination meeting of the National Citizen Party (NCP). The event was attended by Sarjis Alam, Chief Organiser (North) of the NCP.

Police units responded immediately to the scene following the blast, which occurred near the entrance of the building. According to Bogura Additional Superintendent of Police (Crime) Hossain Mohammad Raihan, no casualties or injuries have been reported. Authorities have cordoned off the area, and bomb disposal and forensic teams are conducting a detailed investigation to determine the cause and motive behind the explosion.
