As per reports, a blast occurred at a coal mine in Bhadulia block of Birbhum district in West Bengal at around 1030 hours on Monday (07 October).

So far, three bodies have been recovered and several others have been injured. However, the West Bengal Power Development Corporation Ltd (WBPDCL) claimed that five people lost their lives due to the blast in its mine.
